Connecting to Eduroam

  1. From your iPhone, select Settings, then Wi-Fi, and select eduroam.
    NOTE: Touch the words "eduroam", and not the blue "i".

  2. In the Username field type your full SMCM email address. (username@smcm.edu) Then enter your Password in the password field and select Join.

  3. Select Trust to accept the AddTrust External CA certificate.

  4. You should now be connected to eduroam.

NOTE: Due to the various versions of the Android OS on different models of mobile devices, your options may not be exactly the same as outlined below.

  1. From your Android device select Settings, then under Wireless Networks, select Wi-Fi, then choose eduroam.

  2. You should be presented with the following screen:


    For EAP method, select PEAP
    For Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2
    Leave CA certificate as (unspecified)
    For Identity, enter your full SMCM email address, including the @smcm.edu (Example: seahawks@smcm.edu)
    Leave Anonymous Identity blank
    Finally, enter your password in the Password field, and select Connect
  3. You should now be connected eduroam

  1. Click the WiFi icon at the top right hand of your screen and select eduroam.

  2. When prompted, enter your full SMCM email address, including the @smcm.edu (Example: seahawks@smcm.edu), followed by your password.

  3. Click Continue on the "Verify Certificate" window.

  4. You should now be connected eduroam
  1. Click the internet connection icon at the bottom right hand corner of your screen and select eduroam.

  2. When prompted, enter your full SMCM email address, including the @smcm.edu (Example: seahawks@smcm.edu), followed by your password.

  3. Click Connect when asked, "Continue connecting?"

  4. You should now be connected eduroam
  1. Right click the internet connection icon at the bottom right hand corner of our screen. Select Open Network and Sharing Center

  2. Click Set up a new connection or network.

  3. Click Manually connect to a wireless network.

  4. Enter eduroam as the Network name. Select WPA2-Enterprise as the Security type. Select AES as the Encryption type. Click Next.

  5. Click Change connection settings

  6. Click on the Security tab. Select Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) in the Choose a network authentication method drop down. Click Settings.

  7. Check the box DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA. Select Secured passwords (EAP-MSCHAP v2) in the Select Authentication Method drop down box. Click Configure.

  8. Uncheck the box Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any). Click OK.

  9. Click Advance Settings.

  10. Check the box Specify authentication mode. Select User Authentication. Click Save Credentials.

  11. Type your full SMCM email address, including the @smcm.edu (Example: seahawks@smcm.edu), followed by your password into the appropriate fields then click OK.

  12. You should now be connected eduroam
