Blackboard User Roles

This page contains descriptions of the different roles in which an instructor can enroll a user in their Blackboard course. Users officially getting credit for a course must be enrolled by the Registrar.

When you are ready to add users, follow the instructions on the Adding Users to Your Blackboard Course Knowledge Base Article.

Research Student NO NO SMP or Independent study students who need access to course materials
Teaching Assistant YES YES Teaching Assistant not enrolled in the class through the Registrar's database for credit, who needs access to the Grade Center.
Teaching Assistant - No Grades NO YES Teaching Assistant not enrolled in the class through the Registrar's database for credit, who needs access to the Grade Center.
