Adding a Student to the Foreign Language Placement Exam

This article explains how to use the tool for adding students to the foreign language placement test, and viewing students who have already been manually added.

  1. Log into the portal at https://seahawks.smcm.edu with your network username and password.
  2. Click on the Working at SMCM tab.
  3. Under the My Tasks section, click FLPT Assignment.
  4. Enter the student's id number, the begin date, and the end date.  Click Add Language Test.
  5. The following will appear when the data is saved successfully.
  6. The student will see the link to the Foreign Language Placement Test listed on their My Academics tab under the SMCM My Tasks section during the date range specified by the beginning and ending dates.
  1. Log into the portal at https://seahawks.smcm.edu with your network username and password.
  2. Click on the Working at SMCM tab.
  3. Under the My Tasks section, click FLPT Assignment.
  4. Click Show active FLPT tests. This will generate a screen showing the students who have been manually granted access to the FLPT test.  The screen will not show groups of students, such as the entire pre-matriculating student group. Once the end date has passed, the student will be removed from the list.
  5. A student’s access can be removed by clicking the trashcan icon at the far right of their record row.
